vonMash is a visual artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa, whose work seeks to reshape the old views of Africans and the diaspora. Heavily influenced by African aesthetics and psychedelic elements, vonMash’s work highlights our spiritual connection to the cosmic universe through empowerment and inspiration.
He mostly uses digital art as a form of self-expression because of the infinite possibilities the medium provides. The use of symbolism to help push his message across allows the viewer to interpret the pieces based on how they feel. African aesthetics, rich vapour and psychedelic colours and textures all come to life in one vibrant artwork, in a style of which he coined as ‘AFRIDELIC’ art.
