I am a Cape Town based artist, illustrator and maker of things. In my work I engage with themes of identity, perception, consciousness, memory and value. I am interested in understanding the concept of the “self” as being constructed from polarities. Where are these elements in opposition and where do they counter-balance one another? I try to explore each of these concepts from a personal view point and in this way attempt to better comprehend and navigate the material and abstract aspects of this world in which I literally and figuratively ‘find’ myself.My main vehicle of expression is painting.
