My artwork embodies the IPAF 100 sustainability theme through the eyes of a young girl. It is inspired by the Historical events bringing them into the present context of the 21st Century. The young girl represents the Salt River High school uprising during 1976, a symbol of a fight for equality Whilst the Nguni Cattle a symbol of the Khoi Khoi people who were the first to settle in Salt River. They both float gracefully into the golden age of a vast ocean of abundant waters. It is a Positive outlook on history, present and future, encouraging a more sustainable and inclusive world.
