Strategy: Large-scale murals can serve as drawcards for both new and existing tenants, significantly increasing rental demand. Public art, in the form of eye-catching landmarks, not only enhances the visual appeal of a property but also boosts foot traffic and provides valuable marketing opportunities. Recognizing these benefits, Baz-Art collaborated with a local Salt River property to create a captivating public artwork that would have a lasting impact, fostering engagement among property tenants and passersby.

For this particular project, Baz Art's in-house art director worked closely with the artist to ensure the depiction of the building's shape and location was accurately captured. The featured image of the pangolin, a beloved and endangered species native to South Africa, was chosen to create a sense of familiarity within the local community. By sparking conversations and establishing a local landmark, the mural not only appeals to residents but also attracts visitors to the area.

Impact: The Pangolin, created in 2018, has since become a key landmark in the Salt River area. The property once a factory has since become a student accommodation block showcasing how public art can impact potential renters.
