Nicholas Kerr was born in December 1980, raised in Johannesburg and currently lives in Maboneng. Despite getting schooled in traditional arts, his preferred artistic medium is spraypaint.
From 1999 to the present, he made public spaces and environments his canvas with a spray can in hand. Better known as Dekor One, in the South African graffiti scene, he is a contemporary artist primarily recognized for street art. His capability of painting anything with a spray can has earned him a few projects.
In 2006 he had the opportunity to travel to Chemnitz, Germany to represent South Africa in an International Graffiti festival ‘Write for Gold’ which was followed by another festival ‘Meeting of Styles’ that same year. In 2017 he became part of NVS, a German based crew and was invited as a guest artist to paint at Street Art Miele in Eindbeck.
The following year he was invited to paint at Meeting of Styles Antwerp as a guest artist.
