Richie Madyira is a Cape Town-based figurative artist from Zimbabwe. Through the use of vibrant colours and visual story telling, his pieces tackle themes such as the living conditions in impoverished communities, aiming to create happiness and harmony whilst utilising a colour palette that doesn’t represent the real world .
His paintings are character studies rather than portraits: his figures and subjects appearing against imaginary, idealised and brightly coloured backgrounds.Madyira now lives in South Africa where he explores and discovers his art and where he pursues his full time job as an artist.
