Petru can be defined by her passion, skill and ability to design & create across various different platforms and her dedication to art. She is appreciated for her deep understanding of the aesthetic language regarding fine art, murals, design, illustration, trend, form and beauty and still follows a successful, ever-evolving career in this field.

After completing a degree in Fine Art she lived and worked in Munich, Germany. Building a formidable career as an Art Director and Designer for Advertising Agencies whose client portfolio were well known global brands.

In South Africa, she continued as an Art Director and Designer in the field of Advertising & Corporate Design touching all spheres of Multimedia, 3D, Web design in both Johannesburg and Cape Town strengthening her skills and immersing herself in corporate branding. She found balance Art Directing and creating for the South African Film and Music Industry, creating concert brochures, posters, and billboards for the international pianist David Helfgott, cabaret artist Herman van Veen, and other prominent names.

Immersing herself in ways of the East, Petru spent a year in South Korea where she was a guest lecturer at Suncheon University Art Design Department, taught English and worked with children. 

Petru has exhibited her work in two collective art exhibitions South Africa, gaining attention from collectors both Locally and Abroad with works being acquired as far as Norway.

Making a home in Cape Town with her daughter Mia who has recently completed her degree in Fine Art at Michaelis, Petru turned to to fulltime illustration of books & various design and art assignments painting in traditional oil. She has also illustrated books for Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Oxford, Cambridge & Rod Tritton. 

Steppng onto new unexplored terrain (scaffolding and buildings) Petru found a natural talent and ability to paint large scale 3D and 2D murals. In 2017 she was honoured to be the performing guest artist at the renowned Kurt Wenner 3D Art exhibition at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

Her work can be seen all over as part of various campaigns with a long list of clients from Sprite to The Hub in Scarborough. She has created murals for Investec Private Bank in Umhlanga’s Cornubia Mall and Century City with her talents creating a buzz as close to home as the Simons Town Shark wall, various restaurants and the private homes of discerning patrons who have fallen in love with her stylistic and unique approach to Fine Art.
