Julia Riordan is anstreet artist based in Stockholm, Sweden, who discovered her passion forcrochet and knitting at the age of 10.
2012 Julia Rio launched her own knitwearlabel, specializing in unique, colorful beanies. Each piece is designed andknitted on a domestic brother machine, comprised of a bed of 200 needles,hand-driven and environmentally friendly. Each beanie is finished off themachine by being hand sewn together and labeled.
Julia has always been a bigadmirer of street-art, and after completing her first yarnbomb in the streetsof London while studying at London College Of Fashion 2013 , her creativityseeked out more of this type of expression. Now she covers public spaces withpaint, patterns and yarn. Julia wants to see the public spaces as our commonliving room, where everyone should feel comfortable, safe and be able to bringsomething into it.
