Born in 1976, Gilles DUSABE is a Rwandan-Swiss artist, living and working between Kigali (Rwanda) and Geneva (Switzerland).

Educated at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and then at CCA Kitakyushu in Japan and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, he varies the materials and forms of expression according to his inspiration, choosing for each work the medium appropriate, the one who will be most able to convey his concept.

A great traveler and committed humanist, Gilles DUSABE is an attentive observer of his time, sensitive to the various issues that affect the lives of his contemporaries.

It is at the heart of everyday life, made of anecdotes gleaned at random, from striking encounters and upsetting experiences, disturbing realities or shocking news events, that this artist captures the spark that feeds his thoughts on the issues of individual freedom, social justice, equity, tolerance or human rights. Paths that eventually give birth to challenging works, sometimes disturbing but rarely leave indifferent.

Over the years, his works have sailed between photography, video, sculpture, painting or installation and happening, always in the background, this desire to question our perception of the world but also, this desire to position himself as a storyteller of his time and a guardian of the collective memory.
