At Baz-Art, we are always on the lookout for new and talented artists to showcase on our platform. And today, we are thrilled to introduce Sphiwe Romeo Mtshali, a graphic designer and illustrator with a passion for creating captivating pieces of art.

With an art background and a qualification from the Durban University of Technology, Sphiwe has honed his skills in both traditional and digital art forms. From a young age, he has been using sketchbooks to create art using various mediums, including charcoal, ink, paint, and pencils. This early love for art has now matured into a passion for digital art.

Recently, Baz-Art discovered Sphiwe’s work on a Facebook page called South African Illustrations, and we were immediately impressed. His unique style, which incorporates African authenticity and bravery, caught our eye, and we immediately initiated contact.

The International Public Art Festival 2023’s theme is “What if,” which Sphiwe interprets as having no boundaries in creativity. The signature character he created for the festival symbolizes this free-spirited creativity and incorporates glasses, which are associated with confidence. This character embodies Sphiwe’s confidence in his work and his illustrations.

In conclusion, we are excited to bring Sphiwe’s work to our platform and to introduce him to the world. We believe that his passion for art, his unique style, and his talent will inspire and captivate our audience. Thank you, Sphiwe, for sharing your creativity with us, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

To see Sphiwe’s character come to life, book a guided dour for the 1 – 5 March at Company’s Garden!
