Baz-Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to using public art to uplift communities, create dialogue, and beautify urban spaces. Founded by Melissa Cucci, Baz-Art has been a leading force in the African creative economy, promoting creativity and community through the power of public art.  Based in Cape Town, and operating in the national and international arena as the largest public and street art platform in Africa, this emerging company builds bridges between communities, neighbourhood groups, businesses and educational systems through creating street art in many forms.

With this growth, Baz-Art now needs to engage someone with your talents and experience in administrative procedures and office management to ensure we maintain organisational effectiveness and efficiency as the company grows. 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency as we grow. The successful candidate will report directly to the Directors and be responsible for ensuring smooth office functions, maintaining up-to-date records, assisting with applications & reports for grants, and enhancing relationships with clients, funders, suppliers, and the community.

Responsibilities:

– Manage office procedures and ensure organizational effectiveness

– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records

– Maintain a tightly controlled filing system within our Google Drive

– Work closely with our Funding Manager to support in providing documents, information & admin related assistance

– Manage the Director’s calendars and engage with stakeholders to organize meetings. 

– Ensure compliance with standards and regulations

– Review complex documents and reports

– Manage office suite, website, and computer systems

– Responsible for all street art tours bookings, invoicing and project management 

– Developing and maintaining relationships with tour guides

Requirements:

– Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar or related position

– Excellent communication and organizational skills

– Attention to detail and passion for precision and accuracy

– Ability to solve new or unfamiliar problems

– Experience in office management from a legal and financial perspective

– Proficiency in computer, office suite, and basic website back-end management

– Strong understanding of facts and figures

– Expected in office minimum 3 days a week 

– Full availability during the lead-up and during our yearly flagship event in February
