A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE SHOWING YOU THE INSIGHT INTO THE LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL STREET ART SCENE HERE IN CAPE TOWN.
Salt River boasts some iconic street art from 20 years ago. Most painted walls stem from the International Public Art Festival (IPAF) held in and around Salt River every year. Artists from South Africa and worldwide have adorned the facades of over 125 buildings in an extraordinary display of artistic self-expression and empowering messaging.
We extended into the City Centre for our 6th edition of IPAF under the theme 'Humanity'. Under this umbrella, artists used their voice and empowering messages to create murals that the public can engage with and learn from. Join our guides on the City Centre tour to see our latest murals.
You can download a map to do a self-guided tour or book a tour guide with us.
Choose a tour that best suits your interests, and we will pair you with a hand-selected tour guide to give you the best possible experience. You will get to discover the murals created in previous International Public Arts Festivals, hear more about public artworks and their history in the various part of Salt River – Cape Town City Centre and learn about the artists who created them.
