Locations: Philippi, Mitchells Plain & Salt River - Cape Town, South Africa

Funder: The City Of Cape Town

Baz-Art, in collaboration with The City Of Cape Town, started off the SA Artist Programme with the Kids Art Programme in July 2020. The first workshop was hosted in Philippi and then Mitchells Plain and Salt River in Cape Town.

The programme gained much popularity in it's first few weeks with an intake of twenty to twenty-five children per day. Different qualities of tools are used; including markers, pencils, charcoal and brushes. They learn styles of dots, lines, tones, shapes, shading, sketching, etc. The children are happy with expanding their creative abilities and strict safety protocols are followed regarding the pandemic.

The programme is very beneficial for the families as they feel it is a safe and creative space for the children to be at after school hours and keeps them away from social ills.
