To book, fill in this FORM<\/a> and select which of the following events you would like to attend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 2022 National Public Art Conference aims to unite South Africa’s creative sector through facilitating in-depth discussions with leaders in the field. The conference hopes to discuss contemporary topics that affect the sector at large and the current challenges and opportunities faced by today’s creatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 2022 National Public Art Conference consists of different activities, namely 6 roundtable discussions<\/a>, a seminar series and a street art masterclass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Please see an outline of the conferencing activities below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roundtable 1: Urbanism and Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A discussion centered around taking the local culture into consideration when designing urban spaces and how public art can assist therein to ultimately create a thriving community. Panelists will include Professor Francois Viruly (UCT), Kevin Mutia (ICLEI) and Robin Jutsen (City of Cape Town). Panelists include Magdalene Minnaar (Cape Town Opera), Mirna Wessels (Spier Arts Trust), Sophia Welz (ConcertsSA\/ South African National Youth Orchestra\/ Brixton Light Festival), Richard Kilpert (Zeitz MOCCAA), Robin Jutsen (City of Cape Town) and Tebogo George Mahashe (Michaelis School of Fine Art\/ Convenor of Connect South Africa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Date: 28 February<\/p>\n\n\n\n Time: CLOSED SESSION<\/p>\n\n\n\n Venue: The Boardroom at Cartel house, 113 Loop street, Cape Town<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roundtable 3: Art and the Cryptoverse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n An exploration of art and the possibilities for the sector made possible through the cryptoverse. What do artists need to consider? Which policies can help the creative sector thrive in the digital age? Panelists include Elmarie van Straten (Cur8), Bjorn van Poucke (The Crystal Ship\/ All About Things\/ Ruby Gallery, Arno Visser (VirtualStaX) and Charl Bezuidenhout (WorldArt).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Date: 24 February<\/p>\n\n\n\n Time: 18:00 – 20:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n Venue: Selective Hearing, 189 Buitengracht St, Cape Town<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roundtable 5: Link Between Art and Youth Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n An in-depth discussion on the incredible potential for personal and social development arts training can provide children and young adults. This workshop is specifically designed for creatives to optimize their visibility, reach and engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Date: 21 February<\/p>\n\n\n\n Time: 13:00 – 15:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n Venue: The Boardroom at Cartel House, 113 Loop street, Cape Town<\/p>\n\n\n\n Seminar 2: Financial Management and Fundraising for Creatives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A lecture by Alexandre Tilmans on financial management for creatives. Topics like how to budget for big creative projects, how to split funding over complex project action lines and how to report on it will be discussed.
