Brothers

I painted this piece live over the course of the Design Indaba. I used the atmosphere of the event, and people I spoke to, as inspiration.

To me, the piece was a symbolic representation of the feeling of calmness contracting the anxious excitement caused by creativity. To me, the two figures represent the never-ending search for something, and the calm that comes with having a purpose to search.

I think there are two conflicting people inside everyone that are completely necessary. This piece depicts a more subtle view of the conflict.
